		<description><![CDATA[There may not be a human being alive that would have been magnanimous enough to opt out of this deal.  You&#039;d have to be certifiable to do that.  

I guess what bothers me most is that there was information on BP, FanGraphs, etc. that showed Shields was having issues last year in San Diego.  They of a supposedly pitcher friendly ballpark.  Along come the White Sox, who evidently didn&#039;t know about this information or had it and chose to get Shields anyway.  He and his struggles come to the AL where there is an extra bat in the lineup and he also arrives at a pitcher friendly Chicago ballpark on top of it.  

The results after he came to the White Sox spoke for themselves.

Jerry, Kenny and Rick made their bed here.  They&#039;re going to lie in it to the tune of a lot of money and a lot of runs allowed.]]></description>
