It will be fascinating to see how this all plays out. Will the team who finishes runner-up in the Sale derby be turned off enough by the Sox that they will skip Q altogether and go after an Archer or Sonny Gray instead? These trade negotiations are going to require a degree of deftness that eluded Hahn when they were in “go for it” mode last year and they were trying to land an OF’er.

I predict the White Sox will get a haul of prospects for Chris Sale that are the equivalent of Matt Davidson, Nestor Molina, Avi Garcia, Dayan Viciedo . . .you fill in the rest . . . a bunch of can’t miss guys.

The Cincinnati Reds would be interested in OF Adam Eaton for a package of OF Scott Schebler, SP Robert Stephenson, and 2B Dilson Herrera. That is an ML-ready starting pitcher, an ML-ready starting OF/DH, and a ML-ready 2B to pair with SS Tim Anderson for Eaton.

I don’t think the Nationals have a deep enough farm system.

The Braves scare me because they have so many arms and you just KNOW the White Sox are loving them some of that.

The Dodgers have the farm system, the cash and the possible willingness to take Todd Frazier? I might start there.

The Boston ship set sail.
