Cooper has a four-pitch arsenal and exceeded expectations with 142 combined strikeouts in 118.2 innings between Birmingham and Winston-Salem. Granted he was a SP in Hi-A but he pitched exclusively out of the pen upon his promotion to AA achieving a 47/12 K/BB in 41 IP with a 1.02 WHIP. Would not surprise me to see him arrive in Chicago later in 2017 if he continues to pitch well and deliver solid relief results at Birmingham and Charlotte …
