I for one still believe that a complete tear down is a bad idea. The main reason being, attendance is going to go down because of the inferior product that Rick Hahn is proposing to put on the field. How long do you think it is going to be before the White Sox say they are loosing money because of poor attendance? For the casual fan do you think they will rather spend there money at Wrigley watching a championship team or spending there money watching the Sox? Also you cant use Houston or the Cubs as references because there business models are different. Houston has no other team within 600 miles so as baseball fans that is their only option. And the Cubs have always had money and have been bad for a long time so expectations weren't high from the beginning. Granted from a pure baseball perspective this may be the best move but from a business/fan perspective this sucks, and at its core professional baseball is a business. So I believe that the outcome of the rebuild will be either a sell of the team or a move to another city; and I really hope not because I have spent to many years being a Sox fan. I go back to the disco demolition days, and I remember Wilbur Wood going 20 and 20. I have seen bad Sox teams and I for one am not looking forward to those days again.

I'd love to see Abreu in Category B. If Jose has a killer first half and will command a top prospect from a contender at the trade deadline, then great. He gets to play for a winner, and we get another piece for the rebuild. But I'd be even happier with him staying on through the rebuild and becoming the DH on the next contender. The last time we had a major league quality DH was also the last time we had any kind of a ball club. (Thome in '08. No I won't count Dunn in '12.) Jose will be 33 in 2019 and could settle nicely into that role and be the face of the franchise and a mentor to the kids in the meantime.
