Locking down SP and middle of the diamond position players looks like what the first phase of this rebuild is trying to accomplish.

We discussed this on the podcast with Jeff Paternostro. He’s pretty clearly a 2B and if that fails 3B will be the next stop, where he is also not blocked.

I wouldn’t classify Moncada as a “clear path” in the infield. There’s still enough debate about whether he’d be better off in the outfield. If he is more suited to the outfield, then the infield future is Tim Anderson, maybe Collins, and…

It’s too early in the rebuild to identify a clear path. Maybe the pitching, but it’s been that way for 25 years.
