That’s a hard question to answer. Hahn sounded like they were optimistic that once May got his first hit it would take the pressure off and he would be able to pick things up from there. Obviously that didn’t really happen, and with Leury hitting so well it’s not really a choice anymore.

If Avisail needs to go on the DL, you call up someone like Willy Garcia and he should be playing over May as well. Personally I’d probably just call up Bourgeois and let May grapple with AAA for a few months, but him being on the MLB roster has been a bit of a headscratcher all along.
